On the basis Specific intelligence, DRI Mumbai zonal unit intercepted one female passenger Ms. Balzabaptista Karendralenny, a Venezuelan national, aged around 27 years, who arrived at CSI Airport Mumbai by flight no. ET610, from Sau Paulo Via Addis Ababa, on 09.08.2019.

Ms. Balzabaptista Karendralenny, was produced before CMM Court and DRI sought permission for conducting medical test including X-ray of her body since intelligence suggested secretion of drugs in her body which was granted.

X-ray at JJ hospital revealed presence of foreign objects in her stomach and she was admitted for extraction of those objects.

At that point of time Ms. Balzabaptista Karendralenny had admitted to have consumed 80 capsules containing Cocaine before taking the flight for Mumbai at Sao Paulo in Brazil via Addis Ababa.

As per directions of the Doctor, Ms Balzabaptista Karendralenny was admitted in the hospital on 09.08.2019 at about 17.00 hrs. During her stay in the hospital, she had purged 80 capsules in 17 times during the period from 09.08.2019 to 13.08.2019
4. She was discharged from J.J.Hospital on 14-08-2019 on Doctor’s advice. She was then summoned to DRI office
During examination of the 80 capsules, drugs were found. Examination resulted in recovery of white powder purported to be Cocaine weighing 796 gms. having international illicit value of Rs.4.77 crores,from the 80 capsules, which was seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.

5. Statement of Respondent Ms. Balzabaptista Karendralenny was recorded under the provisions of NDPS Act, 1985 wherein she had admitted to have smuggled seized cocaine for an international stndicate for 5000 US $. She was arrested on 14-08-2019, for her alleged act of smuggling cocaine by secreting it in her body .

She is remanded to judicial custody till 20-8-2019.
