Real estate developers adopting technology to ensure transparency to home buyers

Indian real estate is stepping out of its brick and mortar image and embracing technological advances such as virtual walk throughs, drone shoots, paperless e-brochures and even mobile Apps. Some Indian real estate developers like Lodha, The Baya Company, The Wadhwa Group and a few more are switching to mobile apps to interact with their customers.

The Baya Company, a real estate firm based in Mumbai, launched its mobile app that provides their customers with real-time updates on projects, a digital repository of all documents, and innumerable support services.

The app and its functionalities are noteworthy as, typically, home-buyers spend a lot of time and effort to access information regarding their properties or solicit after-sale services. The Baya app allows users to do this, right on their mobile phones. While a lot of information is readily available on the app, to access certain documents a home owner can simply put in a request, following which they can even track its progress. The app is one of India’s first real estate mobile applications allowing home owners to get payment reminders, track their payment schedule, and make payments too, using net banking.

The fact that this mobile app allows audiences to browse through project related information, book a site-visit, track a project’s progress in real-time, make payments, and even raise a maintenance request, all from the comfort of their mobile phone is path-breaking. It would be interesting to see the kind of response The Baya app will not only usher an era of great convenience for home buyers, but also reduce wastage of paper – a cause the company seems to value immensely.
