Mumbai: MVA Govt led CM Uddhav Thackeray announces 5% reservation for Muslims in Schools and Colleges
In a big development, the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government led Chief Minister Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray on Friday, announced in the Maharashtra Legislative Council a 5% reservations for Muslims in School and Colleges. The Council will introduce the bill and the government will ensure its smooth passage before the beginning of the admissions for the academic year.
Incidentally, a Muslim reservation was mentioned in the manifesto of the Congress and NCP..
Maharashtra Congress Leader Mudassar Patel has expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray and Shri Balasaheb Thorat Hon’ble Maharashtra Congress State President and
Minority Affairs Minister Shri Nawab Malikji & Shri Naseem Khan ji Former Minister for the efforts initiated in fulfilling the demand and declaring to provide 5% reservation to the economically backward Muslim Community in the Education & Job Sector.
Notwithstanding the Directives of the Mumbai High Court to provide the said reservation, the previous government had chosen not to implement it.
Shri Mudassar Patel, Shri Nawab Malik and Shri Naseem Khan are hope full that this MVA Government will keep on doing such good work for the further betterment of the Minority Committee.
