Mumbai: Mumbai BJP.Leader, Javed Khan, demands immediate waiver of Electricity Charges by the Maharashtra Government
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused much turmoil; social isolation, economic problems and uncertainty on the ensuing future and coping with pressures to name a few. A global crisis such as this has led to or has aggravated on the country’s situation.
At this juncture of this pandemic, BJP Leader Javed Khan while interacting with Hello Mumbai News says, he requests the Government of Maharashtra to be gracious enough to kindly wave off Electricity BILLS for SIX MONTHS.
He added he is asking this because the Electricity Distribution Department are robbing Mumbaikars in trillions in the Name of Wheeling , Regulatory, Assets and Fuel adjustment charges.
However, in accordance to Electricity Act, no any such distribution company can take wheeling charges from their consumers on their own network. Same situation applies on regulatory assets charges.
MERC has been granted to collect Depreciation charges from consumers in the name of regulatory assets charges.But, it’s 100% allowed in Income-Tax Act 33 and 36 (||) means the electricity distribution companies are taking dual benefits and dubiously robbing both government and people. There are much more illegalities detected by RTI which can’t be described herein.
“Hence I, fervently request the Government of Maharashtra to kindly wave off Electricity Bills of Mumbaikars.
