Mumbai: While speaking to Hello Mumbai News Correspondent Neha Singh on phone Rtn Amjad Ali , District Councilor Training, Rotary International District 3090 asserted that amid lockdown Covid-19 that struck the town many preferred remaining confined to the four walls of their home.
But, the diehard spirit of Amjad Ali found many opportunities to serve. He has had the honor of leading the Rotary International District 3090 as District Governor in 2011-12. Till date they have handed over 208 Infrared thermometers, 49 Bipap Machines, 198000 Face masks, 1830 PPE Kits, and 600 pairs of Hand gloves to the needy. This total cost is RS 75 LAKHS.
Apart from this, in collaboration with K SEVA FOUNDATION headed by Ms.Dhano Singh,HARF CHARITABLE TRUST AND ROTARY CLUB MALER KOTLA regularly distributed ration to the poor and needy people. HARF CHARITABLE TRUST adopted Eight families with 27 members including their children and provided every thing of necessity including biscuits ,milk for infants continuously for more than Two months..
Rotary Club Malerkotla organized an awareness Campaign to make people aware about Covid-19. In the camapaign 25 imams of Masjid of nearby villages and city of Malerkotla were invited.
They were addressed by Dr.Mohammed Shabbir Ex-SMO, Dr. Naved Adlam Heart Specialist from DMC and PDG Amjad Ali.While running this campaign they all had taken proper precautions. They provided literature and masks etc. They also distributed masks in Gurudwara and Hanuman Mandir. On this Amjad Ali says “I believe this has been the most successful awareness camp”.
They introduced the slogan of MASK PAO JAN BACHAO for taking proper precautions.

Amjad Ali is a renowned Philanthropist and has been associated with a number of organizations that are into the upliftment of the downtrodden.He is Chairman of Sohrab Group and HARF Charitable Trust. The main activities of trust are Sohrab Public School – Affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi,USA. He has been associated with Rotary since 1995 and He has served the district with distinction as District Governor (2011-12), Rotary International District 3090 , District Rotary Foundation Chair 2013-16, District Literacy Chair 2018-19, District Councilor Training 2020-21 .Presented Rotary International President in RID 3040.
On account of his services to the industry and society he was honoured with various awards . Some of them are National Productivity Award received from Hon’ble President of India, State Export Award twice from Hon’ble Chief Minister, Punjab. LMA- Innovative Entrepreneur award received from Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, and Punjab State Safety Award from Government of Punjab Recognition at RI Assembly at San Diego, USA by PRIP Raja Saboo for promotion of Communal Harmony.
