U.K. based Suresh after studying Actuarial Science at City University, London took up a short spell as a Trainee Actuary in the pension industry. Thereafter, he drifted to property business Sow & Reap, which was established in 2004. The company has since made tremendous growth and has made a dominant presence in the Indian market settled in the UK.

After starting as property finance brokers Sow & Reap then progressed to sourcing property investments for investors. It was at this time Suresh started writing articles for Asian Voice, and has a loyal following which has grown over the years.

Notably, many of the readers being Indian, loved to invest in property but traditionally invested where they lived. Through his articles Suresh has explained that the very purpose of a property investment was to invest where the property would experience the most growth, which is not likely to be in the same locality as one’s home. On the strength of these articles many investors took heed and started investing in Central London. This location became accessible to the Indians living in the Greater London boroughs.

Thereafter excellent investment opportunities were found in Ex-Council property, where the entry price was very low but the rents would still be at market levels. These investments, therefore, had a very high yield attached to them. At the time one could purchase a property with little or even no money, if the property had sufficient discount. If the deal was structured in the correct manner, the discount was then able to be used in replacement of the deposit.

Soon later there were many deals which were flipped. What this means is one exchanges to buy a property and puts 10% down, however, before completion, one sells the property on for more money. This kind of property trading can generate substantial returns in a short time period.

Remarkably, Suresh completed such transactions successfully several times. One deal was purchased and sold within 3 days, making an astounding return for the client involved.

In recent years, many developments have been undertaken and sites have been bought and obtained planning permission, thereby uplifting the values. Syndicates have been set up which allow investors to invest into a pool and allows investors to take part in larger investments they otherwise would not be able to participate in.

Not all investments go to plan, some do not. These are the ones which one can develop and learn from; such learning is not necessarily obtained from the ones that go well.

Currently, Suresh strongly believes there are massive opportunities in the commercial market in the UK, with huge potential to earn lucrative returns.
Due to the current environment, impacted these properties will be coming on the market very cheaply and there will be plenty of opportunity for conversion and development. Suresh is currently matching his clients to such investment opportunities.’
