Hello Mumbai: Tell Something about Yourself and your organization All India Muslim Business Startup Network & Halal Angels Network.

Dr. Tausif Malik: I was born, raised, and educated in Pune. I was blessed with the opportunity to work in different countries. I did my schooling at prestigious Bishops High School & Crescent High School, did my B.Com & M.Com from Anjuman Khairul Islam’s Poona College, and MBA from the Institute of Management Education, Pune. My late father Ata Ur Rehman Malik wanted to become a Medical Doctor, but I couldn’t do that and for his happiness, I studied Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from Argosy University – Chicago, USA.

I have been involved in the startup industry since 1990, since I was a teenager, When I moved to Chicago, the USA in 2007. I lost everything to the great recession of 2007-2010 read about the Halal consumer and launched World’s First Muslim Spelling Bee competition and Masha Allah achieved great success. But tragedy struck. I lost my father and my mom had a major Spinal cord surgery. I decided to move back to India, Restarted my life again and established AIMBSN– All India Muslim Business & Startup Network (www.AIMBSN.com) to connect the Indian Muslim Community with Government of India Schemes for Business, it has four pillars foundation – Networking Events, Incubation & Acceleration Centers at minority schools, Venture Capital & Blockchain.
We when we decided to launch our Venture Capital fund, there were major financial Ponzi scams in the Muslim Community. Hence, we decided to work on Halal Angels Network.

Hello Mumbai: How did you come up with the idea for this business.
Dr. Tausif Malik:  I had finalized to buy a franchise of a Global Business Television Reality Show, but the deal fell off. For this, we had done a lot of research, then I spotted that the Indian Muslim can be connected with the startup ecosystem this would help the economy. I planned to host a Networking conference, as no one was doing this we became viral.
At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modiji launched the Startup India Initiative.

Hello Mumbai: What is your Vision and Mission about AIMBSN?
Dr. Tausif Malik: The Vision & Mission about AIMBSN is to connect the Muslim Entrepreneurs with the Government of India’s Schemes & initiatives such as Make in India, Skill India, Digital India & Startup India, and also with various State Governments initiatives to promote entrepreneurship.

The main goal is to contribute to the vision of the Government of India to achieve the 5 Trillion Dollar Economy.

Hello Mumbai: What is AIMBSN and what are your plans for the expansion and growth of AIMBSN?
Dr. Tausif Malik: AIMBSN – All India Muslim Business & Startup Network is based on four pillars:
1. Networking
2. Incubation & Acceleration Centers at community schools
3. Angel Funding
4. Digitalization of the network through Blockchain Technology
We are expanding our network by offering a city-wise franchise model, where the franchise owner hosts monthly dinners and annual dinners.

Network is Networth. More people network more business opportunities.
AIMBSN events are attended by entrepreneurs, investors, academicians, students not only from the Muslim community but from all communities & religions.

Post COVID- Pandemic we would be taking the AIMBSN Franchise model to the international cities where there is a large Indian Diaspora and conducting events and conferences to inform them about the Government of India and State Government programs and schemes and opportunities.

This again is to do our small contribution towards the 5 Trillion Dollar economy and make India the top destination for Startups.

Hello Mumbai: Why it is important to encourage Entrepreneurship especially among Muslims?
Dr. Tausif Malik:  I would entrepreneurship to be very important for the development of our Indian economy. Entrepreneurs create innovative ideas and businesses which not only create jobs, provide solutions but contribute back by paying taxes.

Hello Mumbai: How did your journey start as a founder of AIMBSN and the challenges you faced share with us?
Dr. Tausif Malik:  An entrepreneur faces challenges every day.
With God’s grace, as our idea was a positive change-maker, and based on my previous experience. I planned out and worked with a target. But, I think my Mother’s Dua helped me overcome the challenges.
I don’t look at challenges but as an opportunity.
The biggest challenge we faced was due to the COVID pandemic we had to hold back our events and expansion plans.
But, we used this situation to connect with the Indian Diaspora (NRI) and planned for the post-COVID situation.

Hello Mumbai: Can you tell us about our projects?
Dr. Tausif Malik:  As a company, we are identified Startup Ecosystem and Halal consumer market. Hence, along with AIMBSN we have two other networks.
Halal Angels Network to tap the 5 Trillion Halal Consumer Market ( According to Reuters). We are connecting the investors and startups who are into ethical and halal space.
Many people think Halal is only about food, but Halal is also an ethical code of conducting business.

Startup Villages (www.startupvillages.net) is a project where we are encouraging people to relocate to their home towns, this helps in maintaining family ties, high-cost savings, and an increase in local entrepreneurship and taxes. COVID has proved remote work is possible.

The idea of Reverse Migration I have been working on for a long time and In 2017, I had launched Bitcoin Training Program in association with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the rural youth would be trained and offered crypto mining rigs for Blockchain networks to operate. This was low-tech work in Blockchain technology and high income. We also had developed a project MAHAft (Maharashtra Future Technology) to promote the State of Maharashtra as the future technology capital of India.

Dr. Tausif Malik:  My roots are from Junnar, and we are proud to be Maharaj’s Mawal (Proud people of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj).
We wanted to do something for my motherland and hopefully, we would launch it on Republic Day.
As we had to close our MAHAft (Maharashtra Future Technology), but we are now rebranding the project or rather rebuilding the project.
