In our Social Entrepreneur series today We are introducing you a very dynamic and popular Social Entrepreneur of  Khamgaon for her remarkable and outstanding performance in social  field particular in inner wheel club  who always believes in Women Empowerment and social entrepreneurship . yes we are talking about Mona Agrawal President Innerwheel Club of Khamgaon, Dist 303, she shared her Service and Charity Project with Hello Mumbai News Reporter Sejal Bhise

Brief Introduction of IWC :

International Inner Wheel  Club is an international women’s  Social organisation to create friendship, service and understanding. It has clubs in over 100 countries with over 100,000 members.IWC has very strong presence in India. It has more than 3000 thousands clubs in Urban and rural India. Since the Covid 19 Pandemic breaks out Inner wheel club launched charity campaign worldwide. In our Inner wheel Social entrepreneur series in this Episode we are introducing very popular face of IWC, she doesn’t need any kind of Introduction.

I am humbled, thrilled and excited to take the reins as President of Innerwheel Club of Khamgaon for year 2021-22. It is extremely fortunate that I got an opportunity to lead such a vibrant club consisting of over 50 dedicated members.

It is pleasure and challenge being instrumental in bringing smallest possible positive change in the society. Under the able leadership of District Chairpeson Mrs Ashwini Gujrathi, it was pleasure to focus various social projects with special emphasis on the empowerment of women adhering to the theme of ‘Sheroes’ and “Strong Women Stronger World”.

Charity and Service projects:

To help save environment, we planted around 650 trees all over Khamgaon. It included planting of one small jungle comprising 450 trees in small area. It is expected that it will purify air of around 2 km vicinity.

Four water harvesting projects were implemented at public places where wastage of water was found high.

In order to promote female education, academic books were donated to needy girl students who would have otherwise dropped from school.

Domestic violence is one major problem that women have to face in their lives. To make them feel safe and to let them know their rights in such situation, we organised a camp on domestic violence with the help of lady lawyers and lady police officers.

In order to help few ladies stand on their own feet, around 10 ladies were associated with a company to sell their products and help them earn around Rs 5,000 per month. One sewing machine was given to one handicapped lady to help her to be financially independent. Also, one cycle was donated to one handicapped person who was doing courier services with the help of cycle. Cake workshop, beauty parlour workshop and Bag stitching workshops were organised and initial material was also provided so that the women could start their own business.

A two day mega exhibition cum sale was organised in which only lady entrepreneurs were allowed to put up their stalls. It was a grand success and many ladies made a good profit during the event.

It is generally observed that ladies are less aware of the internet banking. To help them understand such technical things, seminar on internet banking was organised with the help of lady expert from Pune. Also, seminar on awareness about cyber crime was organised for college students.

Relatives of patients at Government Hospital hardly find any comfortable place for them and parents find it very difficult to handle their children when they are at Hospital. To help resolve the issue to some extent, joy rides were installed in Government Hospital premises where children could play freely.

Bad habits are curse for the society. It is best to arrest them at young age. Seminar on how to remain addiction free was organised and consultancy from expert doctors was given free of cost for the school and college students.

With the help of energetic team members, we feel a lot can be done in the society in a meaningful manner. As we do more work, we realise that there is much much more to do.

Inner wheel District 303 one of the most important District of Inner wheel in Maharashtra which covers North Maharashtra and Vidarbha Region. It covers many big cities and districts of Maharashtra such as Nasik, Jalgaon, Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Wardha and Chandrapur etc. This District performed well during this difficult time of Pandemic. All clubs did many charity work projects for pandemic affected people in rural areas of Maharashtra.
