Women constitute 50% of the population, and this woman power is equally important in elections. Maharashtra has shown the way to victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP had given the slogan of 400 paar, but Maharashtra showed the courage to stop them and the Lok Sabha results is a warning to the double engine government in the state, said All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba.
Speaking at the meeting of the Mahila Pradesh Congress executive committee organized at Tilak Bhavan, Alka Lamba further appealed to the party workers to work actively to strengthen the organization, give time to the party, and start the work of publicity and awareness.

There are 70 crore women in the country, become their voice, assembly elections are just a few days away. At least one woman president should be appointed on each booth. Alka Lamba called upon the Mahila Congress to work vigorously in the three assembly elections and bring back the Congress to power.
Alka Lamba also commented on domestic violence, torture and injustice against women. She expressed anger that a woman was gang-raped and murdered in Kalyan. Alka Lamba said that incidents of atrocities against women are increasing and as an office bearer of Mahila Congress, the party workers must become the voice of women.
On this occasion, Sandhya Savvalakhe, state president of Mahila Congress, said that those who work in the Congress party are given due opportunity, those who have done remarkable work in Mahila Congress are definitely considered while nominating candidates in assembly, municipal corporation and municipal elections. If we work more vigorously and proactively like in the Lok Sabha elections, no one will be able to stop the Congress party from coming to the government in the assembly elections as well.
