Dr Dipti Desai
I am Dr Dipti Desai a practising dentist. I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Government Dental College and Hospital Mumbai. I subsequently went to Australia for my post Graduation . Upon returning to India I worked as a lecturer at the same college for two years after which I started my private Dental practice in Pune. Through my journey as a dental professional I was always passionate about art. Art was a major de stressing activity for me.

What was your key driving force to Choose this Profession/ Business or to become an Entrepreneur.

I was always interested in healing. Dentistry gave me a chance to practice it. The satisfaction in relieving pain and creating beautiful smiles was immense. I started using Art Therapy too as a tool to alleviate pain in terminal cancer patients . Teaching art to visually impaired was also extremely fulfilling. My goal was to bring Positivity in everything I attempted.

I named my clinic as Dr Desai ‘s Clinic and Implant Centre as evident from my profession. My art Company goes by the name of “Stained Glass Mosaic and More”. My art is not restricted to any one medium. I love all art forms . Off late I am passionate about stained glass mosaic .

As I mentioned earlier I am in the business of healing. Be it as a doctor or as an artist. I started both my passions viz dentistry and art with an idea of healing and infusing Positivity in people’s lives
:How did you Come up with your business idea.
I always wanted to heal. With gradual learning and practice both my professions started doing well. Having already started my clinical practice I formed a company where in I started selling my artworks too. It was well received and today my art adorns so many homes and institutions in India as well as abroad.

I have been practising dentistry since past three decades. My patients have become like my family members. I love what I do and my work is my passion. My art too has now been at the forefront for past several years. My Happy patients and accolades received in my art work is my personal achievement. Stained glass mosaic is a very intricate form of art. Cutting tiny glass shards to create right expressions on portraits and mood of the moment on landscapes is challenging but the output is immensely satisfying. It is synonymous to life. One is often broken and life seems to be the end road but one joins pieces together of his or her Life and the result is often better than the original life format. Mosaic is meditative and absolutely consuming.

I love travelling. In the earlier days of practice it was not possible but now I travel and find time to do a lot of artwork in form of Stained glass mosaic. After three decades of dental practice my patients too are very compliant and have taken my travel absences in their stride.
