Hello Mumbai City Desk
Mumbai, 18th July, 2025:
India Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME’s) are a cornerstone of Vikasit Bharat 2047 vision. The sector’s contribution to exports, innovation, and social development is crucial for achieving inclusive growth. They will be an anchor in economic growth, job creation and industrial development.
Considering their importance in the overall economic development of the Country, various schemes have been introduced by Ministry of MSME, Government of India. MSME Development & Facilitation Office (DFO) – Mumbai in partnership with We Spark Start Up Association (WeSSA) organized a dedicated workshop on the theme of “Simplifying MSME Schemes and Benefits at MSME DFO – Mumbai Center. The workshop was supported by Canara Bank and Rupeeboss, both offering various Financial products for MSMEs.
The program was inaugurated by Shri Milind Barapatre, Joint Director, MSME DFO Mumbai. “Various schemes are available for the benefits of MSMEs and through this workshop, we hope that the organisations take this opportunity to avail these benefits.” said Shri Milind Barapatre, Joint Director, MSME DFO Mumbai.
The workshop, attended by various participants across multiple sectors, were presented with various MSME schemes, qualification criteria, documentation processes and other requirements to avail the benefits.
“MSME DFO Mumbai office is always accessible to all the MSME companies for any support required. We will provide any required assistance for the MSMEs to ensure that we can partner their growth.” said Praful Umare, Assistant Director, MSME DFO Mumbai.
A dedicated presentation on Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) was presented by Richa Chaudhari, Manager, CGTMSE. The presentation detailed the credit facilities extended to MSME without the hassle of collateral security or third-party guarantees. Other schemes included Market Development Assistance to help MSMEs promote their products and services through Trade fairs, Udhyam registration for enabling tender qualification with EMD and ZED certification for quality certification.
“The Government schemes have been designed to support MSMEs through various financial subsidies and grants. Lack of awareness among the MSMEs are the primary reason that these benefits do not reach the beneficiaries. We intend to organize periodical workshops in partnership with MSME DFO and not only promote the schemes but also help the MSMEs by providing handholding to ensure that they get the benefit of the schemes.” said Umesh Unnikrishnan, Director, We Spark Start Up Association.
During the current challenging market situation, such initiatives are very important for overall industry and sectors. We Spark Start Up Association intends to set up a helpdesk for MSME and Start Ups for assisting on Government schemes and industry support.
