Mumbai, April 5, 2026: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Mumbai Police has registered a case against Vilaas Laad posted at Mantralaya for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹6.39 lakh in connection with development work approvals.
As per the press note issued by the ACB, the accused, identified as a Vikas Gyano Laad demanded the bribe from a complainant in exchange for facilitating approvals related to development work under Minority Department.
The complaint was filed after the officer allegedly insisted on payment to process pending work linked to public infrastructure development. Following verification of the complaint, ACB officials carried out a trap operation, during which the accused was caught accepting the bribe amount.
The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of(7) Corruption Act, 1988. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to identify any additional involvement or larger nexus within the department.

Senior officials stated that strict action will be taken against those found guilty, reiterating the department’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
ACB Appeals :
The Anti-Corruption Bureau has also urged citizens to report any instances of bribery or misconduct by public officials to help ensure transparency and accountability in governance.
