Mumbai, April 8, 2026: The Maharashtra Government’s Home Department has issued an official order announcing the transfer and posting of three State Police Service (SPS) officers on administrative grounds. The order was released from Mantralaya, Mumbai.
According to the government resolution, the transfers have been carried out under the provisions of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
Key Transfers and Appointments:
Vishnu Nath Tarte has been transferred from his post as Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Kolhapur, and appointed as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Pune City.
Rajesh Kumar Laxminarayan Ankalkar has been moved from the Special Branch of the Police Department in Mumbai, where he served as Deputy Superintendent of Police, to take charge as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai.
Ajay Kashinath Sawant, who was serving as Assistant Commandant in the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Daund, has been appointed as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mumbai City.
The order further stated that these postings have been made in the interest of administrative efficiency and will come into effect immediately.
The notification has been digitally signed by Sugriv Sambhaji Dhapate, Deputy Secretary, Government of Maharashtra.
