NAVI MUMBAI — On the Basis of Complaint filed by a female beaution The Rabale Police have registered a Rape case against a local  Shivdeep Municipal Corporator ( Eknath Shinde Faction) Sahil Devidas Chaugule, and his associate Ameet Maurya associate following a detailed complaint by a 26-year-old beautician. The accused faces severe allegations of drugging, sexual assault, continuous blackmail with compromising media, and monetary extortion spanning over two years.

According to the official First Information Report (FIR) registered at the Rabale Police Station, the complainant, a resident of Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai, worked at a beauty parlor in Balkum, Thane. Her family’s acquaintance with the prime accused, Sahil Devidas Chaugule (a resident of Airoli, Navi Mumbai), began around 2025 through her maternal uncle, Shamal Shukla, who worked for Chaugule looking after cattle in Gujarat.

However, the complainant stated that the harassment began much earlier, in June 2024. Chaugule allegedly accessed her Facebook account without authorization, took screenshots of her personal photographs, and began messaging her from an unknown phone number. When confronted about how he obtained her number, the accused reportedly refused to disclose it but maintained persistent online contact.

The Assault and Digital Extortion

The crime escalated severely in July 2024. The victim went to Chaugule’s residence to meet her uncle, but found he wasn’t home. Chaugule allegedly misled her, claiming her uncle would return shortly, and offered her a spiked cold drink. Upon consuming it, the victim felt heavily drugged and dizzy, losing consciousness. The accused then allegedly sexually assaulted her while she was incapacitated and filmed the act on his mobile phone.

The next day, when the victim confronted him via phone, Chaugule threatened her, stating that if she told anyone, he would upload her compromising photos and videos to social media platforms and harm her husband and child. Terrified for her family’s safety and social reputation, she remained silent.

The blackmail intensified over the next year. In July 2024, Chaugule allegedly sent her an intimate photo via WhatsApp, demanding she meet him at a house in Airoli, where he repeatedly assaulted her under the threat of releasing the media. The victim stated that Chaugule kept a constant watch on her movements through video calls.

In September 2025, the victim filed a formal application at the Rabale Police Station regarding the ongoing harassment. Following this, Chaugule allegedly met her near the Mumbai Express Hotel in Airoli, claiming he had deleted all compromising videos and photos because he had purchased a new mobile phone. Believing the ordeal was over, the victim withdrew her initial complaint.

However, the situation took a darker turn in October 2025. Following a domestic dispute, the victim’s husband moved back to their native village in Madhya Pradesh with their 5-year-old son. Seizing her vulnerability, Chaugule contacted her on October 4, 2025, demanding she meet him at the Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Vashi or a hotel in Belapur, which she refused.

Later that evening, an associate of the prime accused, identified as Amit Maurya, contacted her. Maurya allegedly claimed to have possession of the explicit video and photo of her on his own phone, which he claimed Chaugule had shared with him. He threatened to make the media viral on social media platforms unless she complied with their demands.

The Trap at Vashi Hotel

Driven to a corner by the dual blackmail, the victim was forced to meet the duo on October 4, 2025, at around 9:30 PM at the Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Sector 19, Vashi.

According to her statement, she was kept in a room on the first floor of the hotel overnight. The next morning, October 5, 2025, at around 10:30 AM, Sahil Chaugule, in collusion with Amit Maurya, forcefully took her gold ornaments (including a mangalsutra and other jewelry) and her mobile phone, before fleeing the premises.

Following the harrowing hotel incident and continued threats, the victim approached the authorities again. The Rabale Police have formally logged the detailed first information contents under the Integrated Investigation Form-I (NCRB) and initiated a rigorous criminal probe against:

1. Sahil Devidas Chaugule (Resident of Datta Apartment, Sector 01, Airoli, Navi Mumbai)

2. Amit Maurya (Resident of Chinchpada, Airoli, Navi Mumbai)
