Imposter Alert: Central Railway Catches Fake RPF Personnel Md Malang at LTT
Mumbai 9 th June: Central Railway Ticket Checking team nab Imposter / Fake RPF Personnel
Central Railway’s Travelling Ticket Inspectors, Ms Shraddha Salunkhe and Ms Ketki Kadam, apprehended an individual for traveling without ticket and impersonating Railway Protection Force personnel in an AC local train between Mankhurd and Wadala Road stations, Mumbai Division on 08.06.2026.
Ms Salunke and Ms Kadam while working in AC local during evening hours on 08.06.2026 checked a passenger for ticket, he introduced himself as RPF personnel showed RPF ID card, but failed to produce any travelling authority. His ID card also raised suspicions and his inability to answer a few questions confirmed their suspicions.

The passenger who indentified himself as M D Malang was taken into custody and immediately handed over to RPF and Government Railway Police. A case has been registered at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Railway Police Station.
An FIR has been registered against the imposter under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act 2023(BNS) Sections 204, 337, 339, 340(2), 319(2), 318(4) & 137 under various offences and investigation is in progress.
Central Railway appeals to all passengers and staff to remain vigilant. Impersonation of government servants is a criminal offence. Genuine RPF personnel carry official IDs and cooperate with ticket checking duties. Any suspicious person claiming to be Railway staff should be reported immediately to helpline 139, nearest RPF post, or on-duty Railway staff.
