ROJGAR MAHAKUMBH – SNDT JOB FAIR 2026 CONNECTS YOUNG TALENT WITH 30 ORGANISATIONS Major employment and career initiative at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, SNDT Women’s University,

Mumbai Mumbai, 29 September 2026: A major employment and career initiative, “Rojgar Mahakumbh – SNDT Job Fair 2026,” was organised today at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (UMIT), SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai, providing students, fresh graduates and young job seekers an opportunity to interact directly with employers and explore career opportunities. The event was organised in association with the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the District Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre, Mumbai Suburban, and Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, SNDT Women’s University. The initiative brought together 30 organisations from diverse sectors, creating a common platform for students and recruiters and strengthening the connection between education, employability and industry. A collective effort towards employment The event was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Yogesh Nerkar, Principal, Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, with the overall coordination of Dr. Vilas J. Kharat, Training & Placement Officer and In-charge, Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC).

The organising and coordination team included Ms. Monica Charate, Ms. Iffat Kazi, Ms. Neha Athavale Mhalgi, Ms. Pooja Jambhale, Mr. Praveen Veer, Mr. Manoj Ghag, Ms. Shaesta, Miss Daaniya and Ms. Kalyani, along with student volunteers and representatives from participating institutions. The event also received institutional support and guidance from the university and the wider skilldevelopment and employment ecosystem. Focus on students and young graduates The job fair was open to 2025 and 2026 pass-outs as well as pre-final-year students, giving young candidates an opportunity to explore employment possibilities while still developing their professional skills. Students were encouraged to come prepared with updated resumes, professional attire and the confidence to interact directly with recruiters.

The organisers emphasised that the purpose of the initiative was not merely to conduct interviews, but to give young people an opportunity to understand what industry expects from them and how they can prepare themselves for the world of work. For many students, the interaction with recruiters offered a valuable opportunity to understand job roles, eligibility requirements, workplace expectations, interview processes and potential career pathway

Participation from 30 organisations A diverse range of 30 organisations participated in the job fair, offering opportunities across sectors including engineering, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, sales, business development, finance, administration, training, technical services, marketing, customer support and other employment areas. The participating organisations offered vacancies and opportunities across different qualification levels and professional backgrounds, enabling students and young graduates from varied academic streams to explore employment possibilities and engage directly with recruiters. More than just a job interview The organisers highlighted that employment today requires more than an academic qualification. Students need a combination of technical knowledge, communication skills, problem-solving ability, professional behaviour, adaptability and willingness to learn. The job fair therefore provided students with something equally important beyond recruitment—a chance to experience the recruitment environment first-hand. A student entering a company stall with a resume and leaving with feedback from an industry professional may gain a clearer understanding of what needs to be improved, irrespective of the immediate recruitment outcome. This interaction between young talent and industry was one of the key objectives of Rojgar Mahakumbh. Industry–institution connect The event also strengthened the objective of the Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) at UMIT to create meaningful connections between academia and industry. According to the organisers, such initiatives can create opportunities not only for recruitment but also for internships, industry projects, training programmes, skill development initiatives and future industryinstitution collaborations.

The multi-institution nature of the event further expanded the talent pool available to participating employers and gave students from different academic backgrounds an opportunity to explore careers beyond traditional campus recruitment. A message for young job seekers The organisers conveyed a simple message to participating students: “An opportunity may begin with a resume, but a career begins with preparation.” Students were encouraged to view every recruiter interaction as a learning experience and to continue developing their skills irrespective of the immediate outcome of an interview. Acknowledgement The organisers expressed their gratitude to all participating organisations and recruiters for investing their time in meeting young talent. Special appreciation was also expressed to the leadership of SNDT Women’s University and UMIT, the participating institutional Placement Officers, faculty coordinators, student volunteers, support staff and all stakeholders who contributed to the successful organisation of the event. The organisers also acknowledged the contribution of Dr. Yogesh Nerkar, Principal, UMIT, and the entire Training & Placement and IIIC team led by Dr. Vilas J. Kharat for coordinating the initiative. Looking beyond one day While the job fair provides immediate employment and recruitment opportunities, the organisers view the initiative as the beginning of a longer-term relationship between educational institutions and indus

The objective is to continue creating platforms where students can meet employers, understand industry requirements, develop relevant skills and move confidently from the classroom to the workplace. Target Participants: 2025 & 2026 pass-outs and pre-final-year students Focus: Employment • Recruitment • Career Opportunities • Industry Interaction
