Veteran actor Nana Patekar, known for powerful performances in Krantiveer, Parinda, Tirangaa, Welcome and Raajneeti, has died at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac emergency in Goa.

MUMBAI, October 8, 2026: Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has passed away at the age of 75, sending shockwaves across the Indian film industry. His son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the actor’s death.
According to the information available, Nana Patekar experienced severe chest pain at his residence in Goa early on Thursday morning. A medical team was called to the residence after he was found unconscious. He was subsequently taken to Manipal Hospital, where he was declared dead at approximately 5:20 a.m.
Malhar Patekar said that he was still gathering complete information about the incident and would travel to Goa.
Nana Patekar’s Illustrious Film Career
Born Vishwanath Patekar, Nana Patekar was regarded as one of the most versatile and influential actors in Indian cinema. He began his film career with Gaman in 1978 and went on to establish a distinctive identity through his intense performances and powerful dialogue delivery.
Over the decades, he appeared in several acclaimed films, including Ankush, Pratighaat, Salaam Bombay!, Parinda, Tirangaa, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Welcome, Apaharan and Raajneeti.
