Hello Mumbai City Desk
During the ongoing holy month of Ramzan, Muslims across the globe are observing the sacred period with deep devotion, prayer, and acts of charity. Ramzan is not only a time for fasting and spiritual reflection but also a month that emphasizes compassion, generosity, and social responsibility.

Zakat, one of the five fundamental pillars of Islam, holds special significance during Ramzan. It is a mandatory form of charity through which Muslims contribute a portion of their wealth to support the poor and underprivileged. The objective is to promote social equality and ensure that the less fortunate can also celebrate the festival with dignity.

As part of these humanitarian efforts, Haji Mudassar Patel, President of the Yama Patel Foundation, in association with the World Memon Organization, launched a special charity drive to assist needy families. Under the initiative, ration kits containing essential food items were distributed among underprivileged households to help them observe the month of Ramzan without hardship.
Speaking on the occasion, Haji Mudassar Patel emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and community service during Ramzan. He stated that such initiatives reflect the true spirit of the holy month, which encourages sharing blessings and standing in solidarity with those in need.
The charity drive received an encouraging response from volunteers and beneficiaries alike, reinforcing the message that compassion and unity remain at the heart of Ramzan celebrations worldwide.
