Mayor Ritu Tawde and Commissioner Ashwini Bhide’s zero-tolerance policy in action; P-North Ward clears 1,200 sq. meters in Valnai during a 3-day drive, sends strong message to land mafias

Mumbai: In a strong move against illegal encroachments, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carried out a major demolition drive in Malad’s Valnai area, razing 92 illegal hutments that had come up on a vacant plot.
The three-day operation, conducted by the P-North Ward team, led to the clearance of nearly 1,200 square meters of encroached land, reinforcing the civic body’s commitment to prevent the rise of new slums in the city.


Swift Crackdown on Illegal Constructions
According to BMC officials, the structures were being erected rapidly over the past few days. As soon as the authorities received information about the незаконные activity, immediate action was initiated to stop further encroachment.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Bhagyashree Kapase and Assistant Commissioner Kundan Walvi assigned the responsibility of the operation to Assistant Engineer Vijay Mankar. Acting swiftly, his team reached the site and carried out continuous demolition over three days, bringing down all the illegal structures.
Strong Warning to Land Mafias.


The action has sent shockwaves across the area and is being seen as a direct warning to land mafias involved in незаконные land grabbing and construction activities.
Officials have made it clear that no new slums will be allowed to develop in Mumbai, and strict action will continue against any such Illegal Constructions

Zero-Tolerance Policy in Force
The demolition drive reflects the firm stance of Mayor Ritu Tawde and BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, who have reiterated their commitment to curb illegal encroachments and control the expansion of slums across Mumbai.
Officials emphasized that the Valnai action is part of a larger citywide strategy. The message is clear: illegal encroachments will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
