Sikhs across Mumbai attend Kirtan at India’s ancient Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha at Khar :
Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha regarded as the most ancient and first Indian’s first ISO registered in Mumbai witnessed huge devotees across Khar and Bandra during a Kirtan Ceremony.
On this great and spiritual occasion, Pritpal Singh, one of the trustees ( Secratery ) of the Gurudwara said,” We are organizing Kirtan at this Gurudwara for the last many years. The Kirtan is sung by the students of Akal Academy. Each year the students grace our Kirtan Darbar and recite the sacred Kirtans with devotion.”
Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha is so famous for its religious values that every year all Sikh religious leaders across the world visit this Gurudwara. The Kirtan Darbar promotes our Sikh religious culture and it’s very famous among the Mumbaikar. Devotees come from very far away to attend this Kirtan Darbar.”
Sardar Avtaar Singh (President of Khar Gurudwara ) speaking with ‘Hello Mumbai News ‘ said, “Our Khar Gurudwara is famous for the charity work among the poor and needy people, occasionally we organize Medical Camp, Blood Donation Camp, and Medical Aide to all community people.” He added, “In addition, our Gurudwara regularly organize Lunger. We make Lunger twice a day i.e. Morning and evening. This Lunger is free to all. Each day there is a long queue of people from different communities, particularly the poor and needy people taking advantage of free food.” “Charity is not limited to religion hence through charity we try to help the deprived and the underprivileged section of the society, irrespective of caste, creed, and sex.”
