Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray not to compromise on the seat sharing formula

Following the declaration of the results for the assembly elections, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had reminded BJP to honour the 50-50 power-sharing deal which was fixed prior to the Lok Sabha elections this year.
Even as interacting with the media at the Shiv Sena Bhawan in Dadar on Thursday evening the Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray said that they have already compromised on the seat-sharing after BJP asked them to. However, they can’t be more generous anymore.
I want my party to grow. We contested on fewer seats when BJP approached us. However, we can’t compromise anymore. BJP must honour the 50-50 deal which was made before the Lok Sabha polls. We will talk to BJP high command to discuss the same and if it doesn’t work, we will look for an alternative,” said Uddhav Thackeray.
This hints that Shiv Sena is not ready to compromise on its demand. With Aditya Thackeray’s debut win from Worli constituency in the assembly elections, the Sena might field the Yuva Sena chief as a Chief Ministerial candidate.
Thackeray further said that they can’t cater to BJP’s problems every time as Sena also wants to grow while demanding that the 50-50 formula deal should be implemented now.
The Shiv Sena chief went on to say that they will form the government only when this 50-50 power-sharing formula is fixed. This fuelled speculations that if BJP doesn’t agree to Sena’s demands, they may not support BJP to form the government in Maharashtra.
