Mumbai has only 16 MLAs with higher education :

Obviously not all politicians are highly education even as educational qualification is not mandatory for MLA Nominees.
In Mumbai there are only a few MBAs researcher, and some others with higher education representing their assembly constituencies.. There are only 50 per cent MLAs in the city.
Among the 17 who have higher education are- Dr. Bharti Lavekar from Versova who holds a PhD degree from Marathwada University. Zeeshan Siddiqui from Bandra who has a degree in Business Management from London university, Amit Satam from Andheri with Master’s degree in Management, Aditya Thackeray from Worli, Ashish Shelar from Bandra, Rahul Navekar from Colaba and Mangal Prabhat Loda from Malabar Hill all hold a law degree and Yamini Jadhav from Byculla has also declared
Politicians need to be highly educated in the sense that they must have even political knowledge and the capacity to address meetings etc etc. There are few MLAs in Mumbai who have not even completed their SSC.
