MUMBAI – In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has announced the transfer of 11 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to key positions across various state departments. Among the notable changes is the appointment of Geetanjali Baviskar as the Joint Secretary of the Planning Department at Mantralaya.
Baviskar, an IAS officer of the 2015 batch (SCS), previously served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries Board in Mumbai. Her transition to the Planning Department is seen as part of the state’s ongoing effort to streamline governance and enhance departmental efficiency.

Comparison of Previous and New Postings
The orders, issued late Tuesday by the General Administration Department, reflect a strategic realignment aimed at accelerating policy implementation and improving administrative oversight in the state capital. This reshuffle follows a similar movement of 25 officers just last week, indicating a broader effort by the state government to refresh its executive leadership ahead of upcoming developmental milestones.
In last one week 36 IAS officers reshuffled in Maharashtra including 12 female IAS officers.
