Bhosle breathed her last at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She had been admitted to the facility on Saturday evening after complaining of extreme exhaustion and a chest infection. Despite being moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and receiving specialist care for cardiac and respiratory complications, her condition deteriorated due to multi-organ failure.

Born on September 8, 1933, into the illustrious Mangeshkar family, Asha Bhosle began her professional career at the age of nine. While she often stood in the shadow of her elder sister, the late Lata Mangeshkar, Asha carved out a distinct and unparalleled identity.

Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news to the media outside the hospital, stating that the family is devastated by the loss.
