Bollywood has explored the issue of Triple Talaq in films like Nikaah starring Raj Babbar. However, the recently released ZEE5 film Riwaj is gaining attention for its hard-hitting take on the same subject.Producer Kashish Khan has made a name for herself in the industry by creating a great film.
The film follows Zainab Shaikh, a strong-willed woman who stands against the old Triple Talaq law and fights for justice. Myraa Sareen, who plays the role of Zainab, delivers a powerful and emotionally gripping performance. Whether it’s dialogue delivery, facial expressions, or showcasing deep emotions, Myraa excels in every scene.
Some impactful dialogues from the film include:
“Whenever they want, they give divorce; whenever they want, they apologize and talk about marriage again.”
“I swear, I will break the arrogance of men like you.”
“Divorce, whether given by a man or a woman, ultimately harms the family.”
These dialogues not only highlight the suffering of women but also present important messages about society and justice.
Mithun Chakraborty plays a crucial role as a lawyer fighting for Zainab’s rights, while Zakir Hussain’s character raises a thought-provoking debate:
“Abolishing the Triple Talaq law will not make Muslims in the country happy.”
To which Mithun’s character strongly responds:
“Even Allah does not favor divorce.”
With this project, Myraa has firmly established her strong identity in the industry. The story of Riwaj and characters like Zainab sparked a wave of social change, inspiring Prime Minister Modi to implement the Triple Talaq law, granting dignity and rights to women.
The film is well-directed and includes a melodious song, “Mujhe To Aise Tu Mil Gaya.” Overall, Riwaj is a thought-provoking and intense film that presents a strong social message. You can watch it now on ZEE5.
