Vikhroli is a special place nestled amidst greenery and the largest mangrove belt in the city. With a green coverage five times the size of London’s Hyde Park, Vikhroli offers unparalleled views and better air quality than anywhere in Mumbai.

Eastern Express Highway connects it to Thane, Dadar, Chembur and Vashi. L.B.S. Marg on its western side connects it to Bandra, Andheri and other western suburbs.

The Eastern Express Highway bisects the East Vikhroli into Tagore Nagar and Kannamwar Nagar, thereby providing effective mobility to the residents.
Tagore Nagar and Kannamwar Nagar residential areas are well covered up with greenery, playgrounds, and gardens.
Tagore Nagar and Kannamwar Nagar together have good number of residential Buildings (more than 330).
Kannamwar Nagar is the biggest MHADA colony with 265 buildings and 10,316 tenements; Tagore Nagar has 65 buildings with 3,470 tenements.
By and large the year 2017 was peaceful for Vikhroli Police. In an interview to Reporter Nasir Pipulkar, Senior PI Sanjay Joshi gave valuable information about the efforts taken by the police to maintain law, order and peace in the area.
Sr. PI Joshi further said that they keep constant vigil of the entire colony to safeguard the residents against thefts, robberies, chain snatching, eve teasing, molestation and other anti social activities. The police have at their disposal 7 mobile vans and 3 Beat Marshalls to patrol the whole colony.
Police actively take part in various events and festivals to portray a friendly image and to convey easy accessibility. Their regular presence in social events nips any eventuality in the bud and discourages mischief makers from disturbing the communal harmony of the locality.
Senior PI Sanjay Joshi added that their biggest challenge is to patrol the 9 km long Eastern Express Highway and service roads within their jurisdiction. There have been many highway chain snatchings as well as hit and run incidents. As there is no human habitat on either side of the EEH, the robbers and reckless drivers have a easy get-away opportunity.
Senior PI Sanjay Joshi who is very active and cooperative is full of praises for his officers and staff who work tirelessly round the clock to maintain peace and harmony in the locality.
He advices the residents of Vikhroli not to blindly believe on the messages posted on the social media and not to fuel the rumor mongering. He also conveyed his best wishes and greeting for the forth coming Independence Day, Bakri Eid and Dahi Handi. He also added that people are free to approach him without any fear and hesitation for any help needed.
