Mumbai marked the 77th Republic Day with solemn and disciplined ceremonies held across prominent locations in the city, reflecting civic pride and constitutional values. Republic Day celebrations were observed at Shivaji Park, where Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took part and addressed the people.in the the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters, the BJP office in Dadar, Collector office in Bandra and SRA Headquarters Bandra East.

SRA Headquarters Hosts Flag Hoisting and Patriotic Musical Programme
The Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) marked the 77th Republic Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony at its headquarters in Bandra East, followed by a short yet colourful patriotic musical programme organised within the main building premises.

The musical event featured the rendition of patriotic songs by invited singers, adding vibrancy to the occasion. Deputy Collector Mr Mohan Naladkar also participated in the programme and captivated the audience by singing the Hindi patriotic song “Dekho Veer Jawano, Dekho Apne Khoon Par Yeh Ilzaam Na Aaye” in his own voice, which received an enthusiastic response from officials and staff present.

SRA Ranks Second in Maharashtra for Technology and Public Support Systems
Addressing senior officials and staff members, Mr Mahendra Kalyankar, Special Executive Officer (SEO), Slum Rehabilitation Authority, extended his Republic Day greetings and congratulated the department for securing second rank in Maharashtra for its performance in the Technology and People Support System category.

“This 77th Republic Day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm. Maharashtra is progressing steadily under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The SRA department has performed commendably by addressing local issues faced by economically weaker sections during the redevelopment process,” Mr Kalyankar said.
He further assured citizens that the SRA office and its teams remain fully accessible to assist people and resolve grievances related to slum rehabilitation projects.
Focus on Technology and Artificial Intelligence

Mr Kalyankar also highlighted the department’s increasing focus on technology and artificial intelligence to ensure faster and more efficient grievance redressal. “Our department is continuously strengthening its technological framework so that people’s problems can be resolved within a very short time,” he added.
The Republic Day celebrations at the SRA headquarters concluded on a patriotic note, reinforcing the authority’s commitment to transparency, technological advancement, and public welfare.

The grand flag-hoisting ceremony was attended by Dr Mahendra Kalyankar, Chief Executive Officer, SRA Brihanmumbai; Mr Mitkar, (DYC); Mr Nawale (Secretary); Mr Deshmukh (Secretary); Mr Nirbhawane (Officer on Special Duty); Mr Bhande (Deputy Collector); Mr Mohan Naldkar (Deputy Collector); along with other departmental heads and senior officials.
