Actress Nagma to replace Priya Dutt in Mumbai for Lok Sabha Polls !!!
With Congress leader Priya Dutt opting out from the Lok Sabha election political circles is rife with the news that in place of Priya Dutt, Congress may contest Bollywood Ex-Star and popular Congress campaigner Nagma from Mumbai.
A senior leader from Congress informed media, “Priya Dutt had won election on Congress ticket after the demise of her father Sunil Dutt, a famous actor and popular Congress MP. Hence she was the original choice for Mumbai Central seat but after she expressed her grievance that she could not contest election hence top Congress leaders believe that former actress and Congress leader Nagma would be suitable for the Mumbai Central Post.”
He added, “Nagma has been a star campaigner of the Congress in the past. In addition, Nagma has worked as the General Secretary of All India Mahila Congress. Besides she lives in Mumbai and is a famous face of Mumbai.” Informing further he said, “Nagma was also a top star of Bhojpuri films hence chances are Congress may contest her from Mumbai North East that has a huge North Indian population.”
Meanwhile briefing media about her decision not to contest polls, Priya Dutt said, “It is difficult to keep a balance between personal and political life. Earlier I managed and gave my best but now I am tired and wish to take rest.” She added, “A few months back I had met Rahul Gandhi and I told him my inability to contest the coming Lok Sabha election. He agreed.”
Besides, Nagma others in the race for Congress ticket from Mumbai are film star Raj Babbar, former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, former Mumbai Congress chief Kripashankar Singh, sitting MLA Arif Naseem Khan, former MLA Baba Siddique.
