Hello Mumbai City Desk :

Maharashtra region has got a long theater tradition. Children’s theater is an important part that enriches this Marathi theatre. Although these plays are written for children, they are not only performed by children but they are presented on stage in such a way that children are entertained by character planning according to the plot of the play. Children are not the only priority in this play. Dramas can feature anything from people, animals, birds, monsters, demons, to old and young. The themes of these plays are folk tales, fairy tales, adventure stories or children’s problems. To present such plays on the stage, the producer has to look at the play through the eyes and minds of children. These dramas are characterized by solid plot lines, easy wit and snappy dialogues. Since children’s language knowledge is not as deep as that of adults, more attention is paid to lighting scheme, creating atmosphere according to the story, costume of characters and color i.e. management than dialogue in drama.

The atmosphere in the play is lighthearted as the children are not under much stress. The children’s play ‘ *Albatya Galbatya* ‘ produced by ‘ *Adwait Theatre* ‘ on the same Marathi Children’s Theater has created a world record by presenting six consecutive experiments on the same day on 15th August 2024 at Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Mandir Dadar under the leadership of producer Rahul Bhandare on 15th August 2024. This record has been recorded by the World Records Book of India. *Sushma Narvekar, Chief Editor of World Records Book of India* honored *Adwait Theater* with a certificate and medal. The World Records Book of India has been doing an unceasing job of supporting and giving a platform to people with various artistic talents who want to do something different in the world.

Sushma Narvekar, Chief Editor of the World Record Book of India, says that while children today are busy with video games, mobile phones, their childhood is somehow trapped in the web of the Internet, if they want to get out of it and enjoy their childhood world, children’s drama is needed. And yet the children’s play Galbatya has done this well. 2 hours children stay away from mobile, TV, video games all age groups enjoy the play.
