In a crackdown on the rampant Dance Bars which operates illegal activities, the Social Service Branch of Mumbai Police raided Deepa Dance Bar in Andheri late Sunday night.

This raid was conducted on the basis of a complaint by an NGO against the Dance Bar.

According to the Police stated they were initially unable to trace the able as they were locked up in the Bar’s Basement to evade the Police.

Somehow they traced the location of the basement which was behind a huge glass on the wall. Police broke opened the glass wall and rescued 17 Girls pushed into prostitution.

Reportedly, the Police arrested the Manager and Cashier of the Bar put them in the Andheri Police Station.

As per the police they suspected illegal practices in the Bar.

Sources reveal that the NGO had lodged a complaint over an open breach of regulations in this Dnce Bar, even amid the Covid-19 Pandemic time.

Moreover in accordance to the rules of Mumbai Police, Bar Dancers openly dance in the bar, and every day the Bar sees hundreds of people visiting and splurging lakhs of rupees on these Bar Dancers.

According to Social Service Branch DCP Raju Bhujbal when the team raided, nothing was seen initially. Later, the police suspected the glass on the wall from the site.

Bhujbal asked for a big hammer and ordered the officials to break open the Glass Wall. In the 15 hours operation the team found a basement where 17 girls were locked up.
