The Bihar Assembly Election for the 71 seats transformed into a high-decibel campaigning by the leaders of political parties in the first phase on October 28 that ended on Monday.
Mumbai: Santosh Rai who extracted apology from Govinda for slapping him is notably contesting the Bihar Assembly Election on an NCP Ticket.
While interacting with Hello Mumbai News over phone, Santosh confirmed this news, saying “yes I got a ticket from 134 Ujjarpur Vidhansabha dist Samstipur and am contesting this election on an NCP Ticket. I have been staying in Mumbai and I am doubly aware of the ideology and the working style of Nationalist Congress Party. I firmly believe in secularisim and NCP is a good party, Pawar Saheb enjoys a good fan following in Bihar and it’s for sure, he will emerge victorious in the election.
When quizzed what prompted him to embrace politics and contesting the Bihar Assembly Election, Santosh Rai made it known that while battling for Justice from Govinda for more then 11 years in the court of law in an assault case, ( Assault incident took place in 16 th January 2008) I realised the importance of politics.
When Govinda slapped me in the midst of a shooting stint in Mumbai, he was an MP of the Congress Party and he used his political influence and power with the Police to drop the alleged charges against him.
Amid all this Court battle, I learnt many things that if one embraces politics one can fight for the people and help them in getting justice.
