In the wake of an FIR for offence registered by Marine Lines Police on a complaint filed by Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar, Advocate and BJP MLA Ashish Shelar claims that the FIR is nothing but a mere brainstorming and imagination of the ruling party.

On Thursday Ashish Shelar moved the Bombay High Court with a petition to quash the FIR.

His petition states that the FIR is blatantly false, vexatious, frivolous, concocted and a product of abuse of process of law. He further went on to add that as the Maharashtra State Women’s Rights Commission had issued a letter to the police authorities to inquire and submit a report on the alleged objectionable remarks by him, he had addressed a letter to the Mumbai Police Commissioner apprising him of the incident. Ironically paying a scant regard to the letter, the FIR was filed.

He added the present FIR is nothing but mere brainstorming and imagination of the ruling party, who are falsely implicating the petitioner in the present crime.
