MUMBAI – A serious case of assault and verbal abuse has been reported at Khairunisa Heights CHS Ltd in South Mumbai, involving a resident and the society’s secretary. The incident, which occurred on the morning of May 2 , 2026, has led to a formal police complaint being lodged at the Dongri Police Station.
According to the complaint filed by Mr. Faiyaz Ismail Anware (58), a resident of flat number 904, the confrontation began around 10.30. AM in the ground floor lift lobby. Mr. Anware observed an excessive amount of heavy luggage being forcibly loaded into the service lift, causing a clear overload.
When Mr. Anware brought this to the attention of the building’s watchman, his concerns were reportedly met with hostility. The watchman allegedly ignored the warning and rudely questioned Mr. Anware’s identity, despite the two seeing each other daily.
The situation turned violent when the watchman summoned the Society Secretary, Mr. Sameer Patni. Upon his arrival, Mr. Patni allegedly began shouting obscenities and verbal threats at Mr. Anware. The dispute quickly escalated into a physical altercation, with Mr. Patni reportedly launching a physical attack on the 58-year-old resident.
“The situation deteriorated so rapidly that he [Patni] physically assaulted me. The entire incident has been captured on the society’s CCTV cameras, which will reveal the absolute truth,” Mr. Anware stated in his formal letter.
Mr. Anware’s complaint further alleges that this is not a first incident. The letter mentions that multiple complaints have been filed against Mr. Sameer Patni in the past; however, a lack of disciplinary action has reportedly “emboldened” his behavior over time.
The complaint references previous Non-Cognizable (NC) reports:
-
NC NO: 0569/2024 (dated Dec 24, 2024)
-
NC NO: 0730/2025 (dated Nov 6, 2025)
The formal complaint has been marked to several high-ranking officials, including:
-
The Senior Police Inspector, Dongri Police Station.
-

-
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Zone-1.

“I am living in fear because I stay alone with my wife. I have filed a written police complaint against the culprit, and the Dongri police have assured me they will take legal action. I am currently waiting for this to happen,” said Mr. Faiyaz Ismail Anware.
