Vice President honors Shri Vishal Chordia, Shri Rajiv Jalota, Dr. Pratap Dighavnkar, Shri P. Anbalagan, Mr. K.P. Bakshi at Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Awards 2019 in Delhi
The third edition of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Summit on Innovation in Governance was held at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra, New Delhi in partnership with Deendayal Research Institute and United Nations Global Compact.
From Maharasthra, Shri Vishal Chordia, chairman of Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries Board, MSKVIB, Shri Rajiv Jalota, commissioner at Goods & Services Tax Department, Government of Maharashtra, Shri P. Anbalagan, CEO, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corproation (MIDC), Dr. Pratap Dighavnkar IPS, ACP (Thane City) and Mr. K.P. Bakshi, Chairman, Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority were honoured. The Chief Guest for the inaugural session of the event was the Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri M Venkaiah Naidu.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar (Hon’ble Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog) chaired the Valedictory Session of the event.The summit convener was Shri Srijan Pal Singh (Former Advisor to Dr. Kalam and CEO Kalam Centre). Some of the awardees, key speakers and dignitaries at the event were be Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan Indian Politician and Senior BJP leader, Dr. Jagdip Narayan Singh Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat , Lieutenant General Amarjeet Singh Bedi, UYSM, YSM, VS DGDIA & DCIDS – Intelligence, Ministry of Defense, Government of India, Chennai Metro and Govind Gaude Minister for Art & Culture, Tribal Welfare, Civil Supplies, Government of Goa. Rajya Sabha Secretary General, Desh Dipak Verma was also present in the summit. The jury for the conclave consisted of several retired civil services personnel.
Shri Srijan Pal Singh (Former Advisor to Dr. Kalam and CEO Kalam Centre), said “In this third edition of KIGA we are bringing together civil services officers, governance professionals and social impact creators on a single platform. Our purpose is to celebrate and express their ideas of how make India march towards a superpower as envisioned by Dr. Kalam” from Maharsthra won this award.
The summit had about 100 most innovative public services personnel, including IAS, IPS officers, PSU leaders, business body leaders & administrative studies related researchers along with academicians.
