A commendable social initiative has been undertaken by Mr. Bhavya Lavti of BD Somani School to empower young girls with self-defence techniques. He organized a free Karate training camp at New English School, Vasai, aimed at equipping girls with essential skills for their safety and confidence. The training was expertly conducted by Sensei Suryaprakash Mundapat, and a total of 54 girls seized the opportunity to learn under his guidance.

The camp concluded with a grand ceremony where certificates were awarded to all participants, alongside complimentary notebooks and food packets. This memorable event was attended by notable figures including Dr. Prashant Patil, a respected social activist,
Mrs. Shobana Vaz, Principal of the host school,

Mr. Sunil Lavti, CFO of GD Somani School,
Mrs. Shraddha More, and various other dignitaries.

The success and positive impact of the camp garnered significant praise for Mr. Bhavya Lavti’s initiative. It was so well-received that he received an invitation from Dr. Somnath Vibhute, Principal of GG College, to conduct a similar event on a larger scale at the college premises. This recognition underscores the importance of such initiatives in fostering self-empowerment among girls, and highlights the community’s support for education and safety.
