Big fire in a slum area in Pune’s Shivaji Nagar, Patil State, Lane No. 3, The fire seems to have begun after a cylinder blast at around 1 pm and spread fast as more cylinders from five-six other households blasted off in the fire, compounding the tragedy, reports Marathi daily Loksatta.

Fire tenders have been called from Pune and adjoining Pimpri Chinchwad fire stations. Crowds gathering to have a look at the fire are impeding fire-fighting efforts, reports the paper. Police have tried to cordon off the area and also rerouted traffic along the slums. No Casualties Reported.
