NAVI MUMBAI – In a display of swift action and bravery, two Beat Marshals from the Kalamboli Police Station saved a 35-year-old woman from drowning at the Roadpali Ganpati Visarjan Lake earlier today, May 10, 2026.
Brief About tThe Incident :
The emergency unfolded at approximately 12:30 PM when the Police Control Room flashed an urgent message to Kalamboli Beat Marshal 1. Reports indicated that a woman had jumped into the local immersion pond and was in immediate danger.
Swift Response and Brave Rescue
Police Constables Akash Wankhede (PC 12336) and Sagar Mali (PC 4349) reached the site within three minutes of the dispatch. Upon arrival, they spotted the woman struggling in the deep water.
Without hesitating for his own safety, Police Constable Sagar Mali dove into the lake. He managed to reach the woman and pull her safely to the shore.Following the rescue, the police team rushed the woman to Asha Hospital in their patrol vehicle.
Initial Assessment: Doctors confirmed that her condition is currently stable.
Transfer: The woman’s brother arrived at the hospital shortly after. For further specialized observation, she was transferred to MGM Hospital via a police vehicle.
The individual has been identified as Anita Balaji Nande (35), a resident of Kalamboli. Preliminary reports from the police suggest that the woman has been struggling with mental health issues, which may have led to the incident.
