Vijay Singhal Appointed Officer on Special Duty for Dharavi Redevelopment Project
Mumbai: In a significant administrative reshuffle, senior IAS officer Vijay Singhal (IAS: 1997 batch) has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, one of Maharashtra’s most ambitious urban renewal initiatives. He was previously serving as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director (VCMD) of CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation), Mumbai.
The appointment reflects the Maharashtra government’s continued focus on accelerating the redevelopment of Dharavi, one of Asia’s largest informal settlements. The multi-billion-rupee project aims to transform the area through modern housing, upgraded infrastructure, commercial development, and improved civic amenities.
