Iqbal Memon Officer receives overwhelming support to lead upcoming AIMJF Election :
In a high profile meeting, the Memon Community unanimously demanded to make Iqbal Memon Officer, the most admired and renowned leader of the Memon Community as the President of All India Memon Jamaat Federation for the second time in the forthcoming election which is going to be held on 28 April 2019 in Ahmedabad.
It may be noted the meeting was held on March 1, 2019, Friday, at Islam Gymkhana. The meeting was organized by Advocate Yusuf Abrahani (Ex MLA). The meeting received more than 350 letters lending overwhelming support for Mr. Iqbal Memon Officer to lead for the next Presidentship in the forthcoming AGM of All India Memon Jamat Federation by Jamats (AIMJF)
Speaking to Hello Mumbai News, a humble Iqbal Memon Officer said, “Frankly speaking I am not interested in contesting the Election but since the Memon Community is insisting and requesting me to contest the Election hence I have given them a nod.” He added, “My community is my priority. I have dedicated my life for the welfare of my community and shall continue to serve my community till my last breath.” Informing about Yusuf Bhai, Iqbal Memon said, “I have high regards for Yusuf Bhai. Also, I have enjoyed my first tenure as President of AIMJF as it was convenient to solve people’s problems and their anguish. Hence I have decided to contest in the forthcoming election on my community’s demand.”
Firoz Usman, appreciating the hard work and dedication of Iqbal Memon towards the Memon Community said, “Iqbal Bhai is a very senior and dedicated social activist. His previous work for the community is appreciable. Hence he deserves to be given a second chance.”
Kaderbhai Perfumewala said, “Iqbal Bhai has played a lion’s share in bringing the entire Memon Community under one Umbrella through his great efforts. Besides, during his tenure he has done a lot for the community like – a) he created more than fifty Jamaat across India b) He gave fulltime honorary service to our community, c) Spend more than Rs 22 crore for several social and charity work for the community. Thus, he is the right candidate for the election.”
Another Memon Community leader Dr.A.R Anjaria said, “Iqbal Bhai has been serving the Memon community since past many decades. His devotion for the community can be gauged from the fact that he dissolved the conflict within the various jamaats within the community and integrated every Jamaat under in single roof. Hence I support him.”
Abdullah Yusuf Patel, National Executive Committee Member of All India Memon Jamaat Federation in a telephonic interview with ‘Hello Mumbai News, said, “To top it all, Iqbal Memon Officer is a good human being and has been a frontrunner in numerous charity work and social service for our Memon Community. He is very sincere and diligent.” He added, “He has launched lots of schemes for widows and unemployed women. I think we should again give him a chance as he is the ‘ideal candidate’ and I am sure he will win the Election effortlessly.” – Edited by Mansoor Khan
