*Mission 16000*
A global pandemic has been posing one of the biggest battle against the human race, but for several unfortunate beings, this one’s not the only front. The battle against hunger still widely persists.
Leo District 3231 A3, with the help of Leo Club of Juhu facilitated 16000+ meals for satellite areas of the city of Mumbai extending a helping hand to the ones who struggle to fill their stomachs, with Leo Club of Agashi backing them up on the field.
This project brought Leo clubs from across the city down to Saraswati Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Tilher Village, Virar to serve these mid-day meals to 400 school kids carrying containers in their backpacks, to take the nutritious food back home for the entire family.
Simultaneously, at Maratha Foundation, a few miles from Tilher Village, fresh meals were being served to 210 underprivileged individuals as a part of Mission 16000.
These meals coming fresh from the kitchen of ISKCON sponsored through the BNP Paribas – Help 2 Help Program were accompanied by packaged drinking water and Parle-G biscuits for the kids generously arranged by Lion Dr Ananth Vaidyanathan and Leo Club of Agashi in partnership with Live to Give respectively.
Steaming hot and nutritious Khichdi, a different kind everyday, most definitely filled stomachs and brought a smile to the faces of thousands of individuals from 3rd to 10th January as a part of Lions District 3231 A3’s Satellite Service Week giving every Leo an opportunity to participate in on of our grandest initiatives.
