Congress Leader Mudassar Patel Attended 1st job Fair of Maharastra College organized 1st Job Fair on Saturday, 2nd February 2019.there 85 candidates got placement & More than 500 candidates visited & 120 we’re shortlisted for the second round Gone are the days when only professional and technical institutions were known for having campus recruitment drive to ensure suitable placements for their students. In a changing market scenario other academic institutions though very few in number, have come forward to host job fairs in their campuses.



Maharashtra College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Mumbai joined the ranks of those few colleges when it decided to organise its 1st Job Fair on Saturday, 2nd February, 2019.

Encouraged by its dynamic Principal Dr. Sirajuddin Chougle & Prof H N Kalaniya General Secretary of Maharashtra Collage.& the Training and Placement Cell of the College actively working under the leadership of Prof. Arun Shaikh decided to host the Job Fair.



In the inaugural programme anchored by Dr. Saima Shaikh, the Principal Dr. Sirajuddin Chougle welcomed the guests which included 36 representatives and HR personnel of well known companies from private sector and other eminent people from related fields.

While emphasizing the significance of such an initiative Dr. Chougle said it was the first step in the direction of connecting the institution with the industries and introducing our students to the professional world. In a college where 70 percent of the students are girls and which has consistent record of producing gold medalists especially in English and Urdu, the job fair will open up the newer doors of opportunities for the students.

The job fair which was initially for the students of the college was extended to neighbouring colleges and finally to all the colleges. Prof Arun Shaikh, Head, Training and Placement Cell, while presenting the concept note detailed out the proceedings of the job fair. Salim Alware, the eminent educationist, who was present on the occasion, chose to highlight the history and professional significance of such initiatives. Ms. Chhaya Kubal, Asst. Director, Maharashtra State Skill Development Society, invited as a Guest of Honour at the programme, talked about the various initiatives of the Gom in this regard.

She also promised the active association of MSSDS with Maharashtra College in future. She lamented the fact that in India only 4.6 percent youths take interest in skill development which must change. Ms. Aafreen Siddiqui, Focal point, UNDP Maharashtra, the Chief Guest at the programme, while appreciating the efforts of Maharashtra College, mentioned the success of her own efforts in the field. While stressing the women’ empowerment she narrated her own journey towards the idea of empowerment. Prof Haji Kalania, General Secretary, KIHE, shared his experiences and offered a piece of advice to the organisers.




Mr. Ahmad Khan, the Chairman, KIHE, while delivering the presidential address, lauded the efforts of the college and encouraged the students to face the interview with a positive mind and determination. The inaugural programme which ended with a vote of thanks from Prof Mazhar Thakur, was followed by the interviews by HRs of around 36 companies which participated in the job fair. The employment fair which went on till 4 pm saw more than 500 students registering for the job fair. The students who came from various city colleges like KC College, Birla College Kalyan were very hopeful of such initiatives. Some students who came all the way from Pune, Khed and Aurangabad appreciated the efforts of the college for paying attention to such a dire need of the time. The programme which saw a good response from various media houses and channels expects to be more meaningful and organised bringing better prospects for the students in future. With the hosting of the 1st Job Fair, Maharashtra College has added one more laurels to its list of achievements in the last three years of its resurgent phase.
