The way Bharatiya Janata Part is supporting Pradnya Thakur, accused in Malegoan Bomb Blasts, it can be inferred that the party would have offered candidature to Nathuram Godse if he was alive,” criticised Sachin Sawant, spokesperson and general secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.

“Thakur has serious terrorism charges against her and she is out on bail. She would not get acquitted considering serious charges against her. BJP is shamelessly supporting the candidature of the person who is accused of terrorism and anti-national activities,” Sawant said.

He also pointed out, “This woman has called martyr Hemant Karkare as traitor.
BJP, Narendra Modi and Devendra Fadnavis who are asking votes on sacrifices of soldiers, did not feel the need to apologise to the nation. Looking at statements made by Thakur, BJP was expected to remove her from the party. But the party has not taken any action against her. This shows BJP supports ideology of terrorism.”

He said, “This is not humiliation of only martyr Karkare but of the whole nation. After uproar from all across the country, Thakur has apologised. And BJP is trying to save itself by saying it is her personal opinion. But BJP will not get salvation without removal of Thakur from the party and apology by Modi.”

He said, “Thakur’s candidature by BJP proves that the party stealthily supports terrorism and that is how BJP works. Help provided to Thakur in the court, almost no action against Sanatan show BJP’s ideology. By looking at this, if Nathuram Godse was alive BJP would have given him candidature. In future, BJP would give candidature to killers of Dr Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare, MM Kalburgi and Gauri Lankesh as well.”
