The Maharashtra Government announced Eid -Milad un-Nabi festival holiday from 16 September 18 September as per the The decision was made following the request by Muslim Community The main reason is to avoid the clash with Anant Chaturthi and Ganesh idol Visarjan which falls on 16 September.

” we will celebrate our Eid -Milad un -Nabi festival as per our Islamic rituals and moon, Government of Maharashtra changed the holiday date its doesn’t impact on our festive activities because we all Muslim Community will celebrate our Prophet Muhammad birthday day as per Islamic Calendar.
We welcome Government of Maharashtra’s decision they have given us the alternative date for Eid -Milad procession because of Anant Chaturthi festival,but I appeal to Government of Maharashtra to support us to maintain peace and communal harmony during this festival”, said Mr.Mansoor khan Chairman Sufi Islamic Board.

While Speaking with Hello Mumbai News over phone Maulana Bunei General Secretary of All India Ulema Board express his view,” All Muslim Organisations from Maharashtra including Khilafat House Committee already decided to organise Eid -Milad procession on 18 September,Now Government of Maharashtra released its holiday Notification GR on 13 September so we welcome this GR.As we all know 16& 17 September Ganesh chaturthi Visarjan and all Government agencies including police will be busy that’s we already decided on 18 September.”

 

” Ganesh chaturthi Visarjan falls on September 17, and  all Muslim Community religious leaders, Religious organisation and Khilafat Committee  have decided to take out Eid-e-Milad processions on September 18 so that both festivals can be celebrated with Joy and Peace, its matual decesion taken by us and All India Khilafat Committee” Said  Sarfraz Aarzo Chairman All India Khilafat Committee .
