IRONMAN Triathlon was organized at Gurye, South Korea on 29/09/2024.

The Ironman Triathlon is a long-distance triathlon race that consists of a 3.86-km Swim, 180.25-km Bicycle ride, and a 42.2-km Marathon run. The race must be completed in less than 17 hours.

Total 6 participants from India, including 4 from Maharashtra Police ( API Kale, PSI Pawar, PCs Sahu and Auti) participated in the competition. All four have successfully completed Ironman Triathlon.

API Datta Kale being best amongst them completed the race in 13 hrs 24 minutes. It is very big achievement by these lower ranked officers and constables.

Brief Introduction API Datta Kale :

API Datta Kale is a commando from first batch of Force One i.e. Special Commando Unit of Maharashtra Police.
He was in Gadchiroli as C60 commando team leader.
He was part of many encounters in Gadchiroli district and eliminated number of dreaded Maoists.
He is honoured with
1) Force One Special Forces Medal
2) Anti Naxal Operation Special Forces Medal
3) DG Insignia
4) President’s Police Medal for Gallantry.
He has worked in Pune City and at present he is posted at Solapur city.
