Mumbai Police does a commendable job at Mahim Mela
The 10 days Mahim Mela (Fair) dedicated to Mumbai’s most revered Sufi Saint Hazrat Makhtoom Fakir Ali Paru (Makhdoom Ali Mahimi), is a major attraction in Mumbai. The Mahim Mela is attended by thousands of devotees from all over India. From Muslims to Hindus to Christians the Hazrat Makhtoom Baba Dargah is a place of true Indian harmony and secular gathering.
The Mahim Police under whose jurisdiction Mahim Dargah is located has a great task to control the huge crowd but each year it does a commendable role and plays a key role in making Mahim Mela a grand success.
As always, the first offering of Sandal to Dargah was offered by Mumbai police. Later devotees from all over India, who come to seek their wishing come true at the Dargah sought the blessing of Hazrat Makhtoom Fakir Ali Paru.
Later people enjoyed the mystical Qawwalis, Sufi music, and Lectures along with Fun and Fair, food stalls and lots of fun games, giant wheels etc.
Kailash Chauhan senior Police inspector of Mahim Police under the guidance of ACP Saatpute and with the help of his team, Raju More, Police Inspector Law & Order, Sub Inspector Waani Mdm, Ajankya Prakash Mane and other staff did a fantastic job during this Mela.
