Brief Introduction :

Dr. Sunil Dhiliwal is a Senior Consultant in Pain and Palliative Medicine at the prestigious hospitals like ACI Cumballa Hill hospital, HCG Cancer Centre and Kohinoor Multispecialty Hospital, Mumbai. He is one of the most respected and very experienced consultant, practicing palliative and supportive care management at both levels- hospital and home setup. At this young age, he is known for his perfection in treating complex palliative care patient needs stemming from his experience (six and half years) at Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, Mumbai. He is also one of the first Phd awardee in the field of palliative care management in India. He pioneered the extensive home care services specialised for patients suffering from Cancer, Chronic Kidney and Liver diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia and Chronic Lung disorders. He is one of the leading experts in setting up home based care program across the city of Mumbai, Navi-Mumbai, and Thane districts.
He is not only a Palliative Care Physician & Administrator of Palliative Home Care Program, but also lead in Research and Development (R&D) of Palliative Home Care. Dr Sunil Dhiliwal and his home care team were available even during the covid-19 pandemic (throughout) lockdown. They managed patients at home by following covid-19 protocols and their work is being published by the internationally acclaimed journal ‘Indian Journal of Medical Sciences’ dated 29th may 2021. Dr Sunil Dhiliwal have been Teaching faculty
for various internal and external training programmes and certificate courses conducted by the Palliative Care Services for doctors, nurses, volunteers, counsellors at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, also for NRHM (National Rural Health Mission) & for NCD (Non Communicable Disease) projects. He has been selected multiple times in international conference for presenting his work and thoughts towards developing palliative care management for both adult and pediatric patients. He is also an Organizer & Teaching Faculty for Training the Local General Practitioner in Principles and Symptom Management in Palliative Care at Mumbai.

Dr Dhiliwal is also a firm believer and practitioner of Indian System of Medicine and knows the benefits of integration of AYUSH system of medicine in managing palliative care patients. He is working towards it at both National and International level and is one of the important member ‘Secretary of Maharashtra State Chapter’ for NAPCAIM (National Association of Palliative Care for AYUSH & Integrative Medicine).
