Mumbai: Speaking to Hello Mumbai News, Anar Mehta emphasised, that during the time of Lokh Sabha Elections in 2017, she was campaigning there. While in interior villages of Gujarat, she came across the pathetic conditions of women and it touched her heart deeply. A thought struck her that women should be economically independent.
She went on to mention that as a single mother , she has faced challenges during her separation which triggered her that women should be empowered to be respected in the Society.
She floated her own NGO, in August 2017 and from then onwards, there was no looking back for her. There wasn’t any losing propositions.
For Anar, Women Empowerment is a passion and an obsession too . When she sees a weak women, her conscience forces her to help, support and be an inspiration.
When you are operating an NGO, you are bound to face Challenges day-to-day. Infact, challenges in urban areas are different. Lack of funds , poor Co-operation with mass media, lack of professional experience of working in particular area , fear of grants , lack of long term strategic planning.
Funding for the NGO is pooled in through csr funding from corporates , Govt grants and sponsorship.
About her future plans, she makes it known that she would be going in for Digitalisation in Women Empowerment through digital platform to reach vast number of women in villages and tribal areas .
Talking about her future goals, she affirms is to bring together partners from different sectors around common agendas for action , seeking to catalyze investments , expertise , and innovation to drive further progress towards global goals .
Sustainable development to achieve a better world by 2030 ; accelerating progress towards the global goals using powerful stories , data and partnerships to highlight progress achieved, hold government accountable and bring together a new generation of leaders to address the World’s major challenges.
Her Message to women is ” I want to show that women are empowered and strong and don’t have to be saved by some male hero . But they can take care of themselves using their intelligence and power”.
“My Role model is my Grand mother Melinda Gates ; she inspires me through her simplicity and kindness and generosity.
Anar further elucidates that during her childhood ,her grand mother inspired her to a great extent and she looks upon her as her hero. It has been her grand mother’s calmness and boldness that inspired her.
Amid the Coronavirus induced Lockdown she passes her time reading , meditating, introspecting.
She supports, help Motivate women and people through her initiatives. She added that she will Watsapp 5 Initiatives which her Ngo is initiating during Covid-19 .
1st Initiative is supplying medical kits to needy n police staff .
2nd Helping foreign Nationals specailly women.
3rd Initiative women who are depressed , under domestic violence, anxiety they get support through this empowerment series
4 th Initiative is mask project by Srishtibharat Bharat.
