BJP’s true face revealed;
Poonam Mahajan also ahead in defaulting banks: Sachin Sawant
As per CIBIL, Mahajan is wilful defaulter
Will go to court for hiding information in affidavit
Mumbai, 27 April, 2019
In this general election, apart from unemployment and farmers’ suicides, failure of banking system and businessmen cheating banks means looting people’ money have been important issues. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure, 36 loan defaulter businessmen have absconded. Many bank defaulters are enjoying under the protection of BJP government. To show to the people concern about the rising defaults in loan repayment, Modi government pretended to make relevant acts stricter. But now it is proven how BJP itself is involved in this chapter. Poonam Mahajan, national president of Bharatiya Yuva Morcha, is a wilful defaulter as per CIBIL,” said Sachin Sawant, spokesperson and general secretary of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.
Sawant further added, “In the list of wilful defaulters like Nirav Modi, Vijay Mallya, Mahajan’s name is also added. As per Reserve Bank of India, wilful defaulter means the one who doesn’t want to return loan amount despite having money or the one who has transferred that amount for some other purpose. Mahajan is guarantor in the loan of worth Rs 11.40 crores of her husband’s company. But she had hidden this information in her affidavit. Bank has filed case against her in this issue.”
He explained, “Her CIBIL score is 600 and personal loan score 570. As per CIBIL, she cannot get loan now. Mahajan couple has cases for not returning Rs 67.65 crores to Indian Overseas Bank and Punjab National bank. Hiding this information in affidavit is a serious issue. Hence BJP that talks about morality must answer now.”
He added, “Mahajan’s property was Rs 12 crore in 2014, Rs 108 crores in 2018 and Rs 2 crores in 2019. This should be investigated. Did banks write off some amount, should be found out.”
He informed, “Mahajan did not give information in her affidavit about Phoenix Auto Private Limited. Her husband is a director in the company with a stake of 51%. PNB and State Bank of India had given loan of Rs 196.74 crores to Aadya Motor Car Company that is owned by Mahajan couple. Both the companies are sister concerned companies. Poonam Mahajan was director of both the companies from March 30, 2011 till 7 December 2015. There is no mention of Aadya Realtors and Estate private limited company in which her husband has 51% stake, in the affidavit. This is crime as per section 123 of Representation of people’s Act 1951. We will approach court in this issue.” said Sawant.
Sumedh Gaikwad, state vice president of All India Professional Congress and Ziya Ur Rehman Vahedi, president of North Central Mumbai District Committee were present for the press conference held in Mumbai today.
