Mumbai: BMC arranges 35 schools as transitory shelters for citizens as Mumbai braces for Cyclone Nisarga after 129 years
Mumbai: BMC has arranged about 35 schools as transitory shelters temporary shelters to accomodate those citizens, recolated there.
Reportedly, eight units of National Disaster Response Force and five units of Navy have been deployed at various locations in the city. NDRF has one team each in Colaba (Ward-A), Worli (G-South), Bandra (H-East), Malad (P-South) and Borivali (R-North) and 3 teams in Andheri (K-West): BMC
BMC has also kept community halls, and cultural centres in the University campus at Kalina ready.
The authorities are taking all adequate measures to prevent destructions in the coastal town of Alibagh which is likely to be worst hit as the Cyclone is expected to make its landfall there.
