China’s Corona virus has spread across India. First case was reported in Kerala. Now it has spread in Mumbai and some people seem to have been affected. This epidemic has been termed as most dangerous and contagious. Reportedly Corona viruses are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. In India, anybody showing slight symptoms of flu is being kept under isolation and the suspected ones are quarantined for some time for medical care. All suspected cases are sent to the national institute of virology, Pune for testing. Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.

CCTV has been installed at airports to screen travelers who are coming in with a fever. The next immediate step is the creation of an isolation facility for suspected cases that at present has been set up at Kasturba Hospital.

The Health Department and the Civic Department has advised people to consume warm water every 2-3 hours and to move from crowded places and not to stand near to a person found coughing.
Also people must refrain from eating exposed food particularly street food.
